After obtaining a doctorate in pharmacy (University of Montpellier, France, 1993) and a doctorate in biology (University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, 2001), I worked for over fifteen years as a university researcher in the field of evolutionary botany. It was a wonderful time spent travelling the world, attending seminars and conferences, visiting herbaria and laboratories, going on botanical excursions and collecting specimens, in order to accumulate, analyse and publish important scientific data.

Today, I have decided to redirect my research towards different horizons, including systematic botany and the history of the natural sciences in the eighteenth century. As a freelance author and biologist, I write popular science articles in various fields of expertise and take part in various scientific projects (taxonomic revisions, data generation and archiving, etc.). Finally, I spend most of my free time photographing wildlife.

The main purpose of this site is to share - through words and photos - my passion for nature, as well as my extensive historical and literary reading. It also offers a range of services inherent in my freelance activity.
